Top, Thanks for doing this excellent review. I am quite sure that it will be very helpful considering buying the HH Deep Jungle.

Excellent, very useful review! Looks like a good one to me!
Well done. I have a HHDJ-long & love it.
I've used the reflectix pad & a 0 degree SB and been warm at 15 degrees.
This summer, I used a CCF without the reflectix & it was perfect.
I think the reflectix needs an air pocket between the person & the pad in order to work properly. This is can be accomplished with a sleeping bag, pad, or anything else, but if you are laying directly on it I think it may actual conduct your heat away. I don't think a single layer of hammock bottom would be enough space to count, so even in the summer, the reflectix may seem cool. Not sure if you had anything under you, but if not, that may be why you got chilly sleeping on the reflecix pad alone. I vary the pad/SB combo I take according to the weather and have been comfy in all temps.
FYI,
If you want to really get the bugnet out of the way when unzipped, we do offer a Mod #4 for the DJ. Makes a good hammock even better!!

There is one advantage to the "Deep Jungle" that may be advantageous to many. The hammock really doesn't have a foot or head. If let's say you have a left zip sleeping bag it's easier to use it if you set up the under-pad so you can exit on your left side. That would be placing the wide head end of the under-pad at the small slit end. If you are using a right zip SB then vice versa. The wide part of the pad would be on the opposite end where the wide slit is. I have tried both ways and have found it easy to position the under-pad either way. On the other hand if you got the 2Q-Zq mod you could probably keep the wide slit end as the head just entering the hammock from either side as convenient. Although I am assuming that the bug net side is as strong as the zipper side.

Yes, it does speak to your concern of getting the unzipped bugnet out of the way. Plus, it also adds the ability to enter the hammock from either side.
On another note, you didn't mention anything about the massive #10 zipper used on the DJ. What are your thoughts about that? We've been quite pleased with the #5 coil YKK we use, it would appear Tom has gone to the extreme? Or just overly cautious now that he's gone to the dark side entering the zipper world.
He was quite adamant about the use of zippers when we presented to him 3 years ago what we wanted to do with his hammocks. I guess he's seen the light....or the profitability?

Great Job SGT, you made me want to go out and get one. I was one of those who tried a Hennessey at first and went looking for something else. One of the reasons was: the size and the bottom entry.
I love my current hammock setup now, but my brother and son both are Hennessey fans. I'll make sure they get a chance to see your review.

So basically they added all the stuff to their hammocks that warbonnet has had for awhile? Is there any real difference that would make someone want a DJ over a WBBB?
