Very nice report. Thanks for sharing. Two of my favorites BWCA and hammocks.
We had more wind on our sixth day, Mid June trip, than we have ever seen in many years going up there.????
The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?

It's too bad you couldn't get the site on N. Temperance. The non island campsite above the portage is a hanger's paradise of a site. Big, open and perfect spaced tree's everywhere. Yea Brule, what a monster. I've had to change my underwear a few times after crossing that one. Nice call on waiting out the wind. Better to sit those days out. Love to see the random trip report about the BW come across in the forums I'm on. It's basically my backyard and I still get a kick out of reading them. Glad you had an awesome trip and didn't get wet

I suspected you were a good backwoodsman when I saw the bannock cooking. I knew for sure you were one when you made the decision to stay off the lake in the big wind.

Excellent report- I'm glad to hear that more hammockers are enjoying the BWCA!

+1 kudos to you for being smart and waiting out the wind. Love the pictures, too- can I get a high-res version to use as desktop wallpaper?
