Originally had the Universal. I'm short (5'4"). Had trouble getting a tight seal a both ends at the same time. If I had the foot end tightly sealed body movement would cause the head end to leak out the trapped warm air. Mac traded me the 2/3uq for the Universal. No problems with sealing up the uq. I use the IX as my warm summer uq with a synthetic ~60*F rated tq. With venting mod on the uq it's a relatively lightweight (sub 20oz total), highly water resistant kit that is comfortable from +80*F to lower 50*F nights.

What's your solution for the cold feet when using a 3/4 UQ?
Yes, I am a warm sleeper so keep that in mind cold-sleeper-people.

My solution was to put my feet in my spare thermal top and tie them in with the sleeves.

I have also heard of a bloke using a pack liner to keep his feet warm. Something I will try at my next coastal hike.

Maybe I should send you a prototype 1/3 TQ that I've been thinking about, Cocksy. It serves the same purpose as the small ccf pad that Shug puts under his legs in winter.
