Great trip report. Looks like a beautiful place to explore.
That's a nice looking beast you have along too.

Maybe. I've resolved to make some more really lightweight and compact gear (lightweight versions of my most recent hammock designs, 900 fill down top quilt, and smaller cuben tarp) so it really will be. See my note about tying the hammock to the outside here. I really like the larger front balance pockets and the external mesh pocket on the main pack. I can get away with using this pack for 3-seasons right now because I can load up my dog's pack if I have to, though he's starting to reach the age where I'll need to go easy on him, so if he carries more than 15 lbs. we stick to easy trails and limit ourselves to 6 or 7 miles per day. He used to carry extra water plus my stove and fuel, but now I treat collected water more often and use a small woodstove which I carry. He carries mostly his own stuff.

It's hard to find a place as appealing as WV in my book. I guess alot of people have their ideal landscapes, and their own idea of "beauty". Some may like deserts or rocks, or what have you. I am just a sucker for lush greens and browns that are so plentiful in WV. Thanks for sharing.

Great report, makes me really miss my dogs. I want one so bad, but wife objects. I will eventually wear her down. Packing with just two sure is fun and easy. Beautiful area.

Thanks for the report. I have hiked the Northern Laurel Fork Wilderness a few times and will be hiking the southern half on 3/21. I was wondering if you could give me any insight to the trail conditions on the Beulah Trail?
