What's the word on another post-Thanksgiving hang at RRG?

I had a great time last year and loved the scenery at RRG. Anyone planning to get something started for a group hang the weekend after Thanksgiving? It looks like I should be off that weekend (rare these days) and I really want a good test for all my new winter stuff.

I suffered through the cold last year when I was utterly unprepared, so coming back this year for vengeance would be the bees knees.

How many pairs of underwear do you own? Do you refer to them as "extras", simply because you're not wearing all of them as we speak?

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'm always game for RRG and want to work on sleeping out in colder weather this year.

Even though I'm back to work, I think I could swing it again. Had a good time and wouldn't mind seeing some other areas in RRG.

I'm off Sat & Sun, so will be there.

    Where?
Or should I say how far do we want to go in?
Do we want a valley (can be cold)?
Do we want a ridge (can be cold AND Windy)?

Let me know if you want suggestions on sites / routes & what we want in features.

I'm fine with whatever. I just want to get back to RRG and enjoy some hot cocoa and cool weather with some hammockers again. Also, my fiancé was jealous of me going last year and she'll be joining me this time. I've only been the one time so I don't know any good spots; I'll leave the planning to the professionals.

I've got some instability at work right now too, but I'd like to think I'll be available then.

I wouldn't mind joining in a hang at RRG this year if one comes to fruition. With enough notice, I can definitely make it. Be nice to head that way again, haven't hung at RRG since I moved back to NC.

    Just a thought,

What areas over the last two trips have been seen?

I know that last November, there were a few that went up to Indian Staircase, and on the last trip from the same point over to Swift Camp Creek.

Has anyone (from the hangs) been over to see Grey's Arch, Koomer Ridge, The section of Rough Trail That Runs From Grey's To Koomer?

Auxier Ridge? ... Any Thoughts on Moving Cars half way so that more of the trial can be seen?

Just throwing this stuff out there...

Last year's thanksgiving hang was at the intersection of Koomer Ridge trail, Rough Trail and the Sheltowee. If someone wants to do a quick in and out hang this year how about the Rock Bridge area. In the summer months this is a hot touristy spot, but I don't think many people will be around the area in November. There is also the the Swift Camp Creek trail right off of the Rock Bridge trail for those who would want to do a dayhike.
I'm not going to be able to head this up this due to the fact I don't know what the future holds at my current job. As of right now I am one of two drivers out of my shop who will still be employed after Sept 16th. The company I work for is shutting down my shop and our dist. ctr in Cincy. I am currently looking for another job to CMA in the case I end up getting laid off like the others.
I am hoping if someone wants to try to put something together that hopefully I would at least be able to get away to come down at least for one night. I am also in the works of trying to figure out when a local TV personality is wanting to get together to shoot a segment for his TV show about hammock camping. At last contact with him he said he wouldn't be available until October. As soon as I find out more info from him I may be trying to set up a group hang for that.
