    G'day from Australia!

    Hey all,
Im Macca, and im from the land down under. i stumbled upon this site from the BPL forums, and it re-sparked an interest i had as a teenager.

i have thought about trying the hammock thing on and off for a few years, as a kid i used to enjoy the old nylon webbing hammock that we had when we went camping, but only recently has the idea of actually using one as my sleep system really kicked off.

from what i can gather, there does not seem to be much in the way of people using hammocks in Aus (at least, not down my end), i have only seen it twice that i can recall (if anyone from Aus wants to shed light on this, feel free please )

so, now im going to start having a bit of a look around and see what i can do with all this info on here.

    Cheers
    Macca

Gday mate and welcome to HF.
My biggest dream is to travel to Australia, look at and climb Ayers Rock, to hike in Kings Canyon, but it is probably just a dream. I must stop I get teary-eyed.
So a big welcome to HF,

Give me two trees, then I'm happy.

    G'day Macca,

I'm also from tassie, I do get allot of odd looks down here when people see my setup, but then again one morning I had that look when I came out from under my tarp to see another Hennessy hammock hanging just near me

Welcome to HF glad you have joined us. Be warned once you have been bitten by the hammock bug. You will never be happy sleeping on the ground again.
