Is this like "Amsteel Lite", at 2mm/1000lb?

    200' of 2mm Spectra for $35. (17.4 cents/foot) 1000lb breaking strength.

7/64" Amsteel is a 1600lb breaking strength. I can't decide if this would be useful for whoopie slings, or if it's understrength. Does anyone have input? (Oh wait, I know this forum: of COURSE someone will have input!)

New England Orange DynaGlide Throw Line - 200'
    Item # D200 ORG 200
    Only $34.95
DynaGlide throwline is a 2mm (1.8mm) throw line made from Spectra, a fiber with extremely high tensile strength and very low stretch. The hi-visibility, pre-stretched and tension set cord is treated with a vinyl coating that results in a snag-resistant line that glides easily over the crotch of a tree for better performance with lighter throw weights. 1,000 lb. breaking strength.

There's a number of DynaGlide users here...self included. At 1000 lbs it is right at the lower limit of cord strength I'll use on a suspension. Gargoyle, who has the build of a linebacker, uses a DynaGlide suspension also.

It's kindy scary how thin it is....

Dynaglide, which is the product you are talking about has been used for whoopies and other suspension related items. I believe that the companies that use Dynaglide for whoopies rate them for use for people under 200lbs.

Edit - was typing really slow while Grizz already answered.

It's kindy scary to find out that Gargoyle has the build of a linebacker, too. I'll be nicer to him in the future.

Oh yeah, just to stay on topic, I use Dynaglide for hammock suspensions, too, and I crank it up pretty tight, so the angle at the tree hugger is often about 15°, making the force exerted about twice the 30° norm. Add to that, I frequently hang Bonaparte's hammock from the same line. Me + Bonaparte = small linebacker.

By the way if you are interested in using Dynaglide you may want to look here too: http://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?item=175

They seem to have the best prices I have seen on it (about 14/15 cents a foot) and the order I recently placed with them came through without any problems
And if you use the code ARBORIST they give you 5% off your order.

I hear you. I'd buy a 1000' roll if it were in gray.

I just hate drawing attention to myself

No, this is a hollow braid, so it's easy to splice.

Only in relation to the orange color of the speer no tangle to the orange dynaglide. Speer no tangle is great guyline but it is not a braided rope that can be spliced or hold the kind of load the dynaglide can. I does work great for your tarp gulines.
