Here's a map that I used a couple of years ago. Not sure about the dates of the campgrounds??? But all I used the campground for was to park.

Thats the map I was looking for, thanks for posting it! I have camped at site 25 before, the road down there can be a little sketchy if it has been wet recently.

I have been following this thread for a bit and hope to be able to attend.

I have hiked the NCT and MRT as a loop many times and normally park at Red Bridge, camping is allowed there and they have a water spigot and toilet. It is about 8 miles to Eddington Creek on the NCT.

Jeepcachr have you checked out the roads in on the east side for Friday night? FR7123 ends at a trail that leads to the waterfall area. There are quite a few camp areas there also.

The problem is some of us can't be there till after dark. So the thought was staying in a campground would be easiest.

I took FR7123 into the waterfall 4th of July weekend with my kids. From the end it's a 1/2 mile hike into sites 3 and 4. The area by site 4 is prime hammock hanging. I've hung there. Lots of good trees, no bugs, and easy access to spring fed water. Might be difficult to find in the dark. Hanging around Red Bridge may be the best option for Friday night.

Warning!!!!! The camp at Red Bridge is right next to Coates Highway, and is not hammock friendly. There are hardly any trees in that "campground"...and on that note should we change "campground" to "camptrees"? Who in their right mind would sleep on the ground?

I just got off the phone with the office in Cadillac. 800-821-6263.

The Seaton Creek Campground is open, not gated, but not maintained after Sep 20.
Campsite fee $15.00 allows 1 car. Additional cars $5.00 per day.

Marilla Trailhead parking fee $5.00 per day per vehicle

Red Bridge Access parking fee $5.00 per day per vehicle

Upper River Trailhead Parking NO FEE, lots of trees close but no water

South Slagle Creek, 2 track road, NO FEE, lots of trees close, water available

East of Red Bridge and river, small parking area, Free but not ideal

If the Cadilac office said it's open just not maintained then I'd say let's stick with the original plan and go to Seaton Creek. Were they ok with campers there or did they just say that it wouldn't be gated? I don't want a ticket. My guess is the outhouses will be locked and the water shut off. Neither of which do we necessarily need, we should just plan for that.

Looks like I'll be getting up there early now that I am +1 instead of +2. it looks like we are back to the original plan. If anybody is off and needs a ride that is on the way, I have an extra seat.
