That really is a fantastic report. I once stuck a ski-clad foot into Sweden while I was in an exercise in Norway (as a young Marine). I've always wanted to see the north when it wasn't covered in snow. Your photos only make me want to got there even more!

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

    One mean looking toadstool.

Kept expecting to see Hansel and Gretel in one of the pictures.

Awsome area to be able to hike in.

I beleive that the solitary Raven may have been a spy, and somebody else (an Evil Wizard) was observing the forest with his "All Seeing Eye". And may have observed your approach into the enchanted forest. Think about it...you were camped next to a mirror-like pond...and that isn't exactly hidden inside of the forest...now is it?

Take care my friend...remember the trees are our friends and they really can speak...we just can't hear them sometimes.

Try this sometime...place your body onto the surface of an old tree, place your ear onto the bark, close your eyes, and listen to the tree talk. It works best if you do it for more than just a few seconds of time....for example an hour...yes, I said an hour. You can also sit at the truck of the tree and place your ear onto the bark.

Another way to experince the ride, is to climb up into a tree and sit down with your back in contact with the truck and close your eyes and feel the sway. You may just want to strap yourself in to prevent yourself from falling when doing this one though.

Beautiful forest and the moss looks like wall to wall carpeting. Thank you for sharing your part of the world.
