Molly Mac Gear on hold for Hurricane Earl

I will be setting a hurricane mooring for a friend with a vessel on the NC coast tomorrow, so I won't be able to answer any PMs or email until Thursaday... send your questions anyway, and I'll get to them as soon as I return!

We don't expect too much wind from Earl on the Western Pamlico Sound, but we also don't play chicken with hurricanes. This one will be close!

Good Luck! Its heading that way. Hopefully she will stay off the coast. I grew up in Norfolk, Va. Only remember one hurricane getting close by when I was a kid. They say its our turn over here in west cental Florida. We had those four come through several years ago. Hopefully that is all we'll see for a while. I don't think I will be able to afford insurance if we get another hit!

Just got back this evening. We did not intend to ride out the storm... just set a mooring, put the vessel on the mooring and made all ready. She needs no more help from us.

Earl looks like it will pass offshore from NC, but who knows?
