    almost done!! diy jungle

well im almost done with my diy jungle hammock. i still have to add some side pullouts, i also made a stuff sack for it out of some left over 1.1oz camo left over from a preveious heated shelter that i made up,of course ill leave the arrows out, i just needed to have something in the tabs to string up the bug netting, and i still need to make up a good sized tarp for it when the next oppertunity to spend more $$$ comes with out the wife knowing

Looking good! You're in a garage; who needs a tarp?

looks like a fine hammock. is that your 1st? good job.
i like the way the arrow shafts spread the bug net on that type hammock. now if someone will make a pack that uses the same shafts for support, that would be a good thing.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

My wife makes fun of me all the time. I still have alot to learn, but my seams are straight now.

Looks good. That would be a good setup to take during bow season, you would have arrows with you then.

Lookin' good. I say you should leave the arrows in for a kind of western look.

Looks good man, did you do a hennesy slit or is it a top loader? Velcro on the netting?

I'd just buy that camo tarp from Sportsman's Guide, the camo matches yours perfectly and mine was $35 shipped.

    camo hammock

as I fan of camo and fine looking hammocks I salute you.

Going backwards in the thread I picked up that you got your fabric from OWF. I was just at their site looking at the camo listing, and I see that falls in the category with the heading

Uses for all coated Ripstops: Fabric is excellent for tent fly's, stuff sacks, etc. and all applications where a lightweight tear resistant, waterproof fabric is needed. Listed weight is before the coating.
and the coating was listed as adding 0.75 - 1 oz to the weight. Is this stuff you used waterproofed?

    thanks
    Grizz

it is a top loader,i sewed the netting on to the back side and in between the channel loops, then about afootoff off of each corner was also stitched together.then the rest was velcro for the opening. GRIZZLY_ADAMS i believe that it is a "DWR" coating i dont think it is impregnated like the 1.1oz. so as far as breatheability goes well it might get a little condensation build up but noth sure on that, just have to try it out and see. anyhow its kinda fun makin these things when the old lady is at work and im bored!! well i see my universal digital camo came in today from OWF time to go make another project!!
