Anyone ever hanged the Roan Highlands?

I know it's a lot of balds but never actually been there. I've gone to ground bEfore using my hammock as a bivy but would like to know if any of you have done the Carvers Gap to Iron Mtn section of the AT?

I did iron mountain to 19e on one weekend and thought the carvers gap to 19e is much more interesting a direction. Also there wasn't much water between iron mountain and carvers gap. The top or roan is very nice place to camp though...wonderful pines. More to see the other direction in my opinion.

Yes, We just did the Carvers Gap to 19E and hung half way up on the ridge at the Barn Shelter. There are lots of hanging opportunities!

Hey! I've done from Indian Grave Gap to Hwy 19 (39 miles, NOBO). Had no trouble finding a place to hang. The weather on Roan can be tricky at times. Hope you have a great trip. Great location to be at this time of year.
