    greets peeps, new from NY

    hey fellow hangers -
I've just gotten into hammocking with a HH expedition. I love it! I think I'll be hooked. I'm already re-thinking fixing broken poles on my tent because I may just leave it in the closet from now on.

I'm in Ithaca NY, planning a trip to the Adirondacks next weekend. I'll be sure to take some pictures and post them here.

Welcome to the forum. Glad there is another upstater here. I can't go this weekend but keep me in mind the next time. Where do you usually go in the Adk. I go just north of Caroga lake on route 10 Good luck lake, or that area.

This ADK trip will start at the Elk Lake trail, take the Marcy trail west around the southwest side of Haystack, camp, up Haystack, into lower range, across Gothics, down into the valley next to Uppper Ausable lake, camp, up to the top of Nippletop, over to dial, down into the valley to the east, head back to Elk lake, camp, leave.

Possibly a side detour at the end up to Chapel pond trail head to climb Giant for lunch, then go home.

    Welcome aboard from Brewster NY.

I've used my tent once since I got into hammocking... the wife wanted to come along and we couldn't use the RV. It wasn't THAT bad.

Welcome from another NYer; Rochester. I spend most of my time in the ADKs, but the western portion, away from the high peaks. I also do quite a bit on the finger lakes trail.

Welcome to HF. Have some great memories of romping around Ithaca many years ago.
