Smile Gossamer Gear Lightrek 4 Trekking Poles

    Hey All,

Thanks go out to all the folks that have sent me some MBD stoves - you all rock!!

So now I am on the hunt for a pair of Gossamer Gear Lightrek™ 4 Trekking Poles.

Preferably the "regular" size and not the "short" ones.

Anybody have a pair they would like to part with?

    Thanks!

    RG,

Might be interested in trading my regular GG Lighttrek 4 poles with straps plus $75 for your WB Superfly, doors and complete suspension. Let me know if you are interested...

    Hello,

How many miles do you have on them?

Why would you want to pass along one of the highest rated poles out there? Did you not like them? Have problems with the adjustment system? Have too many poles and want to get rid of some? Just wondering why you would want to pass along the GGL4's.

    Thanks,
    John

GG 4's poles are flawless, less than 50 miles on them, light as a hummingbird feather, easy to adjust and use. I have several different sets of poles and could use a winter tarp. The only concern I have, if any, with these poles is that I do mostly off-trail mountain hiking in a very rocky setting, so I'm curious how they will hold-up when stuck between two boulders as I am falling towards the next downhill boulder---ouch and possibly snap?!

Lol.... that's partially why I haven't gotten the GG LT4s based on numerous reports of them snapping when getting caught in rocks or in awkward falls... the one time where they absolutely MUST NOT fail. Otherwise the snap sound could be your neck or spine. The weight is tantalizing, but I'm not ready to accept the additional risk of them breaking when I really need them.
