Hey guys. So today I got drug along with my wife to a craft store called Joannes. I couldn't help but wander over to the fabric section to see if they had rip stop nylon which kind of got the ball rolling. I think I have found the things I need to make a hammock, but I am not sure what I need as far as materials so correct me if I am wrong. I want to use a rip stop Nylon and I want to use either a nylon or a polyester thread. They had some special outdoor thread that was polyester that was supposed to be water proof and meant for tents and camping and stuff it was like 7.99 a spool. They also had really big spools of polyester just regular that we 1.99. What's the difference is one better than the other? Now as far as assembling the hammock, obviously the nylon is not wide enough to make one pass, so would I sew it down the middle and put 2 together? I can't imagine it would be good to have the seem running down the center of my back being that it would be the most stressed part of the hammock for weight and the weakest as far as seam. All in all, I know enough to ask the right questions, any help would be great.
