When I saw that you had 25' of Amsteel from Arrowhead Equipment, I thought you were going to do a video on how to make whoopie slings.

Any reason that you choose not to do that as your suspension?

    Cheers

    Great video.

Since there are two rings on each end supporting the weight, the system should be rated at about 400 lbs, assuming equivalent loading on each ring. As long as you keep the ~30 degree angle to you hangs, that system should work. I'd feel comfortable with those rings if I were hanging over normal terrain...wouldn't trust them over rocky cliff sites or anything, but most folks don't hang there anyway.

    Hi all,

JFYI: When I try to watch the video, all I get to see is "This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment. It is not available in your country".

This is a pity, because usually there is really lots of stuff to learn from the vids, into the creation of which has also gone a remarkable amount of time and sweat - so this posting is mainly to let you all know that it might be a good idea to avoid copyrighted music if you want your vids to be seen everywhere.

    Just my 2c, greets, tobi...

Yes, a few of my videos aren't available everywhere. This video is not available in Germany. I don't know why in Germany, but it isn't. I used a song that was played at my wedding and is considered "Our song". Our 12th anniversary is tomorrow.
Since we are on the subject: Some may look at my videos and in some spots they raise an eyebrow and say to themselves "Huh?" like with a song by Sarah McGlaughlin in a hammock suspension video. Well, every video I do has been very scripted for a reason. I slip something into each video that's just for someone, so when they see it they know that part is just for them. It could be a comment, a song, a look, a piece of equipment, or maybe even a joke.
I have a lot of fun doing the videos and it means so much to me that other people are getting use of them. I will keep them coming and try to avoid copyrighted material in the future. As far as changing the song, well, she has seen the video so I'm off the hook. Maybe I'll rework it and repost with a different song.

I like how you show not only what works for you, Arson, but also what does not work (e.g. the water knot, etc.). Bravo~!

    Great video!
Just wondering about using the amsteel on the rings. Can't remember off hand but I read somewhere about possible problems related to amsteel in the garda hitch. Anyone recall any problems?
