So I was going to go camping in the sierras this weekend, with my boy scout troop, but the campsites were all full. This got me thinking; tents require campsites, large, flat, level areas of open ground upon which to set up, which are few and far between in forested mountains. Thus the ground-dweller's dillemma. It's a shame that more people in my troop aren't hangers, because hammocks, it seems, require far less space and don't need level, flat, or clear ground set up.
