I have been able to pick up a number of places that one might call good stealth sites from reading journal entries and logs at the shelters but thought it may be intresting to hear what some of the favorite off beaten path sites are.

During my annual Strategic Planning Meeting (fancy term for golf outing with management and board of directors) I had the hair brained idea of going stealth on the golf course. I decided against the 17th green that I had originally thought about due to recon the night before the hang. Too much light and security concerns. But, I did it and without incident. Kind of fun; but you've got to scope out the sprinklers first.
The corporate stealth package by Cannibal:
SPE rolled inside a fleece top sheet; watch (for alarm); hammock; SG 9x9; biner light w/ red filter; bug spray; hat and cheapo headlamp; and please notice the Cat5 cable to wrap the pad & top quilt.
Here is my set-up just before going to bed. The tarp is pulled almost straight down on one side to avoid being sighted by the security golf cart patrol that goes by about every 1.5 hours. The cart path is about 50 yards away from the hang.
It was a nice night with temps in the mid 60s. The course is Mission Inn in a town called...ya ready?: Howey In The Hills. You've just got to love Florida names. Surprisingly enough, a golf course at night is actually kind of loud. Lots of critters and those **** sprinklers make a ton o' noise...ALL NIGHT!
Nah, these little critters don't bother me. This one (maybe 5' or 6') was doing some recon on the same site I was looking at, but I never saw him that night.
Happy Hangin!
Well that would have made my nighttime waterings much more interesting!
Ok I think that qualifies for most ballsy stealth hang site.... I'd never do it.

Funny, I'm pretty sure I lost a ball (golf ball that is) very nearby where I hung. Actually, there isn't much risk; even out in the open like that. The vast majority of people (security included) don't know how to look for things at night on familiar territory; creatures of habit and all that. Unless you make a noise or are overly obvious, they will just keep driving around in circles looking straight in front of them. Just have to stay out of their immediate line of sight. I could have really gone stealth in the wooded areas, but that wouldn't have been as much fun.
Sounds like fun!

My problem would be snoring..... It would pull their attention I fear.
Here was kind of an accidental "stealth" camp. This is a picture from the spot where the park ranger at Table Rock State Park made me move my tent, he said we couldn't camp in the woods, had to stay on the gravel where I thought was a parking spot. Well if you look closely on the left you will notice my 12' x 12' guide gear tarp under which is hanging my hammock, he stood there for five minutes staring at the tent and never saw the hammock where I slept that night, but I did have to move to tent out of the woods. But lucky for me they never knew that I slept comfortably anyways, despite making me set my tent up on asphalt and gravel.
