    Hammock too long?

So I've got a GT single which, according to specs, comes in at 10'6" long which is longer than all other hammocks i've seen. Not necessarily a bad thing but I was planning on getting the WB bug net and it seems even a tight fit with the shorter WB Ultralight(from pics and videos i've seen)

    any thoughts?

am i going to have to redo/whip the ends to effectively give me a shorter ridgeline?

My first DIY hammock is 11' long, and I love it!

That is a straight-line measurement of the hammock. I suspect once you factor in the sag of the hammock, the netting will fit fine. The WB netting is designed to fit snugly on the Traveler Hammock which has a ridgeline of about 8.5' (101"). So, assuming you have at least 2' worth of sag when your hammock is set, I don't think it will be a problem.

    From Warbonnet Outdoors:
    Travel Net

The travel net is simply a separate bug net designed to be used with the travel hammock, although it can be used with any end-gathered hammock up to 10.5-11’ long. It features a horizontal zippered entrance on one side of the net and is made from black no-see-um netting.

oh, ok.... so is it safe to assume that some manufacturers list the specs of the actual fabric length and then others(like warbonnet)list the ridgeline specs?

No, all the manufacturers that I know of list the total fabric length. There are only two hammocks with structural ridgelines included as 'stock'. I don't visit the other site often enough to know if he lists his ridgeline length; I doubt it.
