    How tough is SpinnUL

Just wondering how resistant to abrasion spinnul is over a period of time.
It's so light and thin and I'm worried about tears etc.

Would it be safe for me to wrap/pull the single ridge line I have around the bundled tarp to make it smaller or would the abrasion damage the material over time ??

My tarp came with a spinnul stuff sack but the tarp will easily compress to half the size but I don't want to cause my new toy damage.

Thanks in advance, there is such a wealth of knowledge here I cannot help but ask questions in the eternal quest to make my pack smaller/lighter.

I would just get a smaller stuff sack. I have a bigmamajumba in spinn that only just fits into it's sack. It wont compress any further.

Ive worked with spinn and its seems pretty darn hardy. My stuff sac could go a little smaller but it molds well into pocket on the pack I carry it in for quick set up. Pretty good material all up.

I've had a Spinn tarp for two years; put about 70 nights on the AT with it and probably another 60 nights, or so, since then. No apparent wear and tear yet. I've been using Spinn for my stuff sacks since May of 09 and I have noticed some wear there. It's always on the drawcord channel. To be fair, I treat my stuff sacks poorly.

I have a spinn UL tarp from MacCat and I treat it just like my silnylon ones and it performs just as well, only lighter :-)

I put my stakes in a spinn OES bag, sometimes packed with extra cord, & it has held up to those pointy things well.
