    OK, here is video evidence.

Just for grins I did a rough cost estimate on this 'stand':
    4 - 4" eyebolts @ $1.92/per
4 - Threaded links; rated to like 1,700 lbs. I got them because the gate opened wide enough to accept the chain links. @ $2.48/per
18' - Steel chain; don't remember the rating, but it was gobs plenty and then some. @ $1.54/per foot

    In round numbers:
    Eyebolts: $8
    Threaded links: $10
    Chain: $28
    Total: $46
Could be done for way less as everything about this is overkill, but I do like the chain because it makes clipping into a breeze.

    Instructive video, Can

Hey, that’s keen, Cannibal. You and Genuine Draft have a great set up for indoor hammocking. Thanks for taking the time, and the $46, to prove that it can be done. Actually, it’s interesting that you proved it, in essence, even without the chains a few posts ago. I assume more stable now that it’s anchored down low, though. And as GD shows, the hammock really is “open” and stretched out, just like it would be from a tree. The physics of what you have demonstrated might help hangers outdoors, when the trees are too close together. Even a strap from the tree to the ground might share some load and make the hammock more horizontal, but I don’t know and can’t tell how much load those chains are taking when GD is in the ‘mock. Well done.

Awww thats cheatin' You used chains. Still cool tho thanks.
My thinking was using the ceiling as the only attachment point.

Theoretically, you could forego the chain and use a whoopie to anchor off with. Then prussik a line/continous loop to the whoopie and attach your hammock.

    Details, details.
A Kobayashi Maru situation just requires creativity.

I'm playing with my DD Frontline in there today. I think I'm taking it this weekend and it's kind of nice to have someplace indoors to do a quick check-out.

I have my BB hanging in my room from wall stud to wall stud. Been like that for 3 months now, and i've slept in it several times. Walls don't creak, no play in the bolt, no math was used. I just screwed those baby's into the walls and hung up the BB and BOOM, hanging in my room. I also only weigh 135 pounds, so I'm thinking that the walls aren't having much trouble supporting my weight.

Cannibal--Ever see that show Hoarders on TLC, about people who hoard tons of stuff so they can't even walk around their place. You are a hammock gear hoarder, and I mean that in the most complimentary sense. I see lying around a Hennessey, looks like a Grand Trunk of some kind, walking poles, UQs, tarps, you name it! Your photos are like a "Where's Waldo" of hammocking swag. You rock!
