Went out to the N.Georgia Mtns. yesterday to do some gear testing and some trail maintenance. The forcast called for a light chance of rain and clearing after noon or so. Boy were they wrong. Just goes to show that the mountains can be hard to predict weather wise. After a couple of miles the rain started. I thought it would quickly pass but then came the high winds and blowing rain. I quickly set up my JRB 8X8 and tied it off to two trees and had me a nice shelter. As I was standing under the tarp, I kept thinking what if I had my hammock and Nest under here with this hard wind blown rain coming in? I'm going to get me a JRB Weather Shield bottom to take when I think there is even a chance of rain. It also will add about 6-10 degrees to my cold weather system. 9.2oz http://www.jacksrbetter.com/index_fi...0Shield-v2.htm
I wish it was olive drab.
