    Soft shackle vs Dutch clips

Question for the more experienced hangers.

Has anyone used soft shackles in place of Dutch clips and if so how did they hold up. Don't have the spare cash right now to buy DCs but got lots of amsteel and have made some shackles.

i have been using soft shackles since they first hit the forums this spring.mine work fine.have never used the dutch clips but can bet they would be faster to set up and take down, and harder to loose.i have lost two soft shackles.it is easy to forget to reclose them on your webs loop as you pack up.tie them on with a string.bring an extra.

I'd pm Dutch and see if he'd send you a set to decide for yourself.

Working this amsteel is addicting. I just made 8 soft shackles and 5 loops. Need to make a couple more sets of whoopie's next.

I've used both and like the DC's for speed of set up. Soft shackles are great though and really only take an extra 20 seconds and a little more manual dexterity to set up.

Another point worth considering is how easy do they setup in winter time. My fingers are next to worthless when its cold out...and I still love winter camping....and yet I can maneuver the Dutch Clips.

Both DC's and SS are very good
but like 2Q said...in the cold the DC's are much better..
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
