@ Jay S - Thanks. I like the stuff sack too ( I didn't mean for it to turn out the way it did) I put the hammock in a plastic bag - a technique learned from HF.net - and compressed and took the measurement then added a little for extra measure. When I stuffed the hammock into the sack I saw that it could be compressed well past the limits of the high quality W-M bag I was using.

As I kept compressing, I remembered a picture I saw of a stuff sack with draw cords on both end and one in the middle (don't remember the thread). I thought to myself, 'Self, you can do the same thing without the middle draw cord'. So that's what I did.

Errrr, uh, I mean, I planned it that way.

That's an awesome hammock, and also I love the way you store the toggles and the tree huggers, In the rolled flap. It keeps the toggle away from the hammock that way they don't pinch the material of the hammock, when its all crammed in the stuff sack... I wish I had a brother-in law that would do that for me

Impressive project and very well designed--it looks comfortable. I really liked your video. For a newbie like me, I got a lot out of your coverage of the basics, including why you used certain techniques. Thanks!

    Great video!

Why use a toggle and a whoopie sling and a carabiner? If you attach you whoopie sling to your tree strap all you need is a carbiner (or dutch clips) for the tree strap to attach to itself after you go around the tree. That way everything stays attached and you don't have anything to lose. I used to be paranoid about leaving my tree strap or biners behind. Now I don't worry about it because I leave it all attached.

How well does the bug net work with it open on the bottom like that?

    Greater adjustability

It works really well as long as you stow some gear in the pockets on either side to weigh down the net. This pulls the net tight to the sides of the hammock. The hammock is a dbl layer making it tougher for the mosquitoes to bite through.
