Why - Why not?
Cannibal and I were throwing around some ideas for a Colorado Autumn Hang (b/c we don't want to Fall...), and we've tentatively decided on Raspberry Mountain, the last weekend of this month (24-26 Sep). This should be a great time and place to see the Aspens changing, and the trail is 5.6 miles round trip with only 1400' elevation gain (pretty mild for Colorado). It's not too far away from Colorado Springs so we might see a few folks, but there are Aspen stands all along the trail so we shouldn't have a hard time finding a place to set up. (Or so I've read...haven't been there yet.)
Like all hangs, we try to maintain the same environment as we do on HF - respectful and friendly. Ground dwellers are welcome to come check out the setups, and we can probably scrounge together a loaner kit if we know in advance. Discrete alcohol use is ok but don't expect a loud party.
If we get enough people we can plan a pot luck for Saturday night, just like those big hangs back east. And we'll surely have several different setups to showcase
So who's in?
