    Ready to toss my pad...

I'm ready to convert to an UQ. Now the hard part... which one is right for me. I was hoping for a little help from the HF community. Here's what we're working with-

    6'4"
    270lbs
Currently sleeping in an ENO Double (subject to change)
Hang mostly in Southeast. Temps range from 20-hot as hell.
    $225 budget

    Down vs Synthetic?
    Full vs Torso?

Love down, you could probably get away with a 40* and make a fleece liner for when it gets colder. I'm thinking, with your size, a full length will almost be a 3/4. I love my HG UQ and TQ. Top quality stuff. Super packable. Gear people. I know that the other cottage vendors have good reputations too. Good luck deciding. No matter what you get, I'm sure you'll love the change.

PM Paul or Missy from underground quilts. They will answer all your questions promptly no matter how small or how often. They will find the right set up for you. I'm on my 3rd quilt from them.

I agree with lilprincess...you should probably go with a full length UQ. We usually recommend starting with a 20* UQ simply because its a good temp for roughly 3 seasons. You can always vent if you get too warm, and yet it serves you well if you get a little chilly.

We are currently running a sale and as far as your budget goes...if the 850GGD is to costly, we also offer 700GDD...just something to chew on

No matter who you decide to go with...you will be extremely satisfied with the quality and customer service!

    Good Luck with your decision,
    Missy

I have a 0° zeppelin from ugq, I got a full length +6" custom because I am 6'3". Although Paul did say the standard long would fit, I think that extra 6" gives me a little extra wiggle room and for me it's perfect.

When it comes time for my next quilt, I am torn between a 20°& 30° but it will be a torso length for 3 seasons.

Down is fantastic, I got the 850 fill and when it came I was sitting on my sofa thinking "no way this will fit in that little stuffsack!" It did (just), but you will be amazed how small it compresses with with very little effort.
