Just watched the climashield video... I think it answered my original question of what it looks like or rather is made of, but now I'm wondering how it compares to other insulation products, where does it land between a cotton filll and goose down fill. And just how thick do they layer it in the pads. I'd think no less than 2 inches thick but then I also go back to not knowing how much it takes to keep warmth...Hmmm... So many questions. I guess I'll only need the one answer and that is how well it does for you Bradley. I hope it keeps you warm, looking forward to your after trip report later on. Oh and for pics of it's pocket stuffers Bradley posted the link got to... http://www.junglehammock.com/models/zliner/index.php and then click on the features tab it'll show the money shots of the Z-Liner.

Nice! Looks about like what I was camping in this past weekend, I was a few feet further from the lake and a bit lower temp but jealous and eager to hear any results. One inch hmmm...? I guess it must be a revolutionary product if the web sites claims are true of adding 20 degree of warmth. And nice rig, I like the camo fly.

Did you go with a 3/4 due to the bottom entry of the HH? I've got a deluxe with top cover and SS, I've been thinking about an underquilt and can't figure out which one. How is getting in and out with yours? is the 3/4 adequate or knowing anything now would you have gotten the full?
thanks - patrick
Well, I just don't do as much winter camping as I used to, and I wanted a UQ that would work best for the "shoulder seasons". My CJH NX-250 has the loop portion of a hook & loop fastener already sewn onto the exterior of the foot section, and I seldom suffer from cold feet, so I figure I will cobble up something to attach there out of polyester batting or maybe a recycled down sleeping bag.
And yes, the 3/4 was on my mind as insulation for the HH, even though I plan on using it primarily in summer. I plan on getting the zipper mod for it this winter.
