After airport security have found you camping like that a couple of times they will suspect you're a terrorist and everyone with a hammock will be subject to extended cavity searches. Or am I being paranoid?

That's the most daring stealth hang I've heard about in a long while! Nicely done.
Trust nobody!
Sleeping isn't a crime, or at least, it shouldn't be, even in airports. People sleep in concourses, cabbies sleep in their taxis, and in some airports (Heathrow), homeless people often come to the airport for a warm place to sleep. I think that's a great idea!
On the other hand, I'm not sure I could sleep with all that jet noise. How well-rested were you?
.. truly to enjoy bodily warmth, some small part of you must be cold, for there is no quality in this world that is not what it is merely by contrast. Nothing exists in itself. If you flatter yourself that you are all over comfortable, and have been so a long time, then you cannot be said to be comfortable any more. - Herman Melville
Kudos my fellow hanger friend, Kudos, nicely played, you def get some mad props from me.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

sleeping and camping out are two different scenarios. I don't see a difference in pitching a hammock and pitching a tent. Also, I doubt the trees along the aiport drives are open to public camping.
Maybe I'm just older then the rest of you guys. . .I have pretty strong views of property rights and asking permission for things like camping on property not designed for it

kycamper, you're right, each of us probably has a slightly different take on what is acceptable urban stealth camping, and to thine own self be true. I camp in national forests when I can, but that's not always possible. I can't afford even cheap hotels, so when I'm in an urban area, I usually catch a few winks in the forgotten places, like a patch of woods behind a strip mall or apartment complex.
