What kind did TQ have at Mt.Rogers----that's what I'd get if I was in a gettin mood.
Funny you should ask. I got a brand new pair, never used and still in the packaging.
They are RedFeather Sport Trek 30" Snowshoes. I'm asking $110.00 plus shipping. Shipping would be USPS at $12.00 parcel post.
If interested just PM me I have pics - both a stock pic and my own photos.
Here's a link to Sierra Trading Post on the snowshoes - http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/4...shoes-30-.html.
Note: mine are black and gray in color.

I found several pairs at SG: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/Main.aspx
Do a search for Snowshoes & TaDa! They run from $40.00 to $233.00
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
still looking....
I have a pair of TSL 227 Escape snowshoes for sale on Kijiji for $100, brand new. Only thing is, shipping from Canada is killer. It cost me $40 to ship a Peapod down to Minnesota, to give you an idea.
Cooldays...sent you a PM
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.
Time heals all wounds...but it usually leaves a pretty big scar.
I'm going to wait until I get two days of snow shoe training from Beep, FourDog, et al, before I buy snow shoes. There sure are a lot of styles to choose from!

There are tons of options out there, but for this heavy hanger a $20 military surplus (never issued) from eBay was a great option. The total cost was about what a one day rental was locally and they are plenty good enough to support the load I put on them. Mag frames with a weave of coated wire make for a very durable snowshoe. May not be the best way, but it's a way.
Happy Trails...
