    It's True I've finally converted

    Hi,

I'm Erik from Nashville, TN I come from a long background of campers/scouters in middle TN, I spent many years on my therm-a-rest toughing it out camping all over the US and Canada. On a recent week long trek to the beach in SC my wife bought us a hammock to set up in our site. I didn't spend any significant time in it until the last day of our trip. I got in and awoke a few hours later strangely refreshed, my back didn't hurt, nor did my shoulder and I felt amazing. This is rather uncommon as I've had several prior back and shoulder surgeries due to a motorcycle accident back when I was younger and invincible.

The hammock is a Camper by Bliss Hammocks we picked up on clearance for less than $20 in a souvenir shop.

Below are some pics of our first setup using my Kelty Noah's 12 and some retired climbing webbing to string it up. Who knew it would send me to the web as soon as I got home to research ways to make it even better!

Welcome to the fold! You can learn tons of information that will make your hanging all the better here.

You can also learn tons from going to a hammock hang. In the Nashville area, Neo's hang at Meriwether Lewis National Monument is a good option. The next one is the last weekend in October. It is a great chance to meet other hangers, check out different hammocks, styles of suspension, tarps, pad arrangements, and underquilts. It's also a good time to camp, relax, hike, and enjoy some great campfire cooking!

There is a hang this weekend in Hot Springs, NC also. It's probably short notice, but is worth knowing about, especially since there may be another hang either in October or next Spring.

Dude, run while you can still get away. This place is addicting and all the cool stuff will make you spend a lot of money. It is too late for me, but save yourself.

    Seriously, welcome.
