I did this with an old mummy bag, cut a hole in the foot end, and added shock cord around the hole. then took the string out of the top around the head opening, and replaced with shock chord. works great! just remember, most of the time, you will still need some kind of top quilt. I use a small blanket, nothing special.

well i forgot my camera. i was only out for an hour or so because i can't campout where i hung. but here is a short review.

i forgot my stakes for my tarp. doh! so i had to make some. it was about 40* outside and a had a very slight breeze. i was near a big creek where this crazy guy was doing some short whitewater kayak runs. so where i was may have been a little cooler than 40. anywho the shock cord worked like a charm. however it made for a snug fit in the hammock. no worries though. i used a fleece sleeping bag liner as my top quilt. my back and shoulders were cold at first but i slid the bag up a little higher and started to warm up. i think i will still need a pad though. at least for my torso and shoulders. i got a wally world blue ccf somewhere so i will try that in between the bag and the hammock next time. other than that it was very cozy.
