Thumbs up VIDEO: Superior Hiking Trail..Shug's Solo Stomp DAY 1

Whooooo Buddy ...... finally my 12 week back to back show schedule is done and I had time to go and stomp in the piney woods!
After a few days getting to re-know my wife I headed out on a solo for 3 nights on the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT). Slept in "booger" ... my van on Saturday night at the Beaver Bay trailhead. Got up there late night. Caught the Superior Shuttle up to the Hwy. 1 Trailhead and headed South. Went to the bridge crossing the river at Split Rock River and camped at the site by the bridge on night 3. Headed back to "Booger" on Wednesday morn ..... a long hike back!

I was pretty sing-songy on this trip ....especially day one. Haaaaaa. Giddy.

Ate some new trail food...... Hawk Vittles. OUTSTANDING! Thankee for the tip on that Miguel..... http://www.hawkvittles.com/

Thankee to Hickery my old friend for the Mora Knife.

Grizz for the Grizz Bridge Hammock..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XVy22

Lonetracker for teaching me to spot chega!

Shot with my lil' old Canon PowerShot 960 IS digital camera.

Me and Big Mark Regnier pickin' a Bill Monroe tune "BlueGrass Stomp".

Karl and I sure do appreciate your time to watch........

    Hey Shug,
I see nobody has posted and maybe that means that nobody has watched your SHT video yet either, But before I even watch it and be entertained by you in your own special way, I want to say....Thank You!!!

You my friend is what is important.

And I am glad that your soul has been saved once again by spending some time enjoying nature!

Shug; nice to see you done with your work intensive and back out in the Superior piney woods. Looks nice as always. I was thinking about you the other week while watching a kayaking video " This is the sea, #4". In it they were exploring the Apostle islands in north Wisconsin and the painted cliffs in northern Michigan i think. I thought ,"Lake superior ,thats Shugs stoppin ground.

    Love those falls!

Thanks for the shout-outs on the GrizzBridge. Nothing like it for zonking out flat on your back.

I can never remember what follows the first two words of "Oh Canada!" either...so I looked it up. "Our home and native land!"

thanks for sharing...eagerly awaiting additional installments

We know it has been a long show season for you. Being able to get out to the piney woulds. Should help to recharge your internal batteries. Thanks for taking us along with you. This was another great Shug classic. Looking forward to the next installment.
