    Superfly door mods?

Has anyone permanently attached (sewn on) the doors on their Superfly? I'm trying to decide if I want to do this or not.. It is pretty much just my winter tarp anymore, and when I take it I always have the doors with me anyways. So, anybody?

i really don't see why not...
if you have them on all the time it wouldn't really matter

i would seam seal the new seams ...and you should be fine
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

I don't even think this would be necessary. They just snap on anyways, it's not like their even sealed to begin with. There really just there for a wind break. I've had it in some pretty nasty wind and rain and they work fine. I'm just paranoid about the snaps letting go someday

I bet if you wanted the snaps removed and doors sewn on 2q and zq could probally help ya out. And here on hf we thread inject not sew (just yanking your leg). But if you got one with out snaps and you have your own thread injector I wouldent imagine it being verry difficult to do. Good luck on the project

I keep thinking of sending my SF to 2q and zq to have them do this.

My SF is a newer version that does not use snaps.

I begged and begged brandon to permanently attach the doors but he wouldn't.

Somebody should see if 2qzq would put something up on their website that is just for doing this. I'd gladly pay 20-30 bucks to have this done. I freaking hate all the cords that I have to deal with right now. Nothing worse than trying to setup those superfly doors that use shock cord when the wind is blowing really hard. Even if I keep the top/bottoms attached, it's still a PITA to setup. 2qzq.... please... offer to do this mod for us!! (and you too brandon ;-P )

We've had an inquiry about sewing on the SF panels that already have snaps. I haven't seen the SF up close, but would need to evaluate the best way to do it. If someone wants to send us their SF tarp, we can check it out. Shoot me a PM.

Anything that gets done by 2QZQ is first rate quality. If they decide that it can be done, you will be very satisfied. I just had doors added to my OES Spinn tarp and they are amazing. I can't even tell that they weren't a part of the original design.
