    Smile Hello from England

    Hi all,
i am new to this forum just wanted to introduce myself,my name is mandy nicknamed 'migsy'.
i am a hammock hanger been using hammocks for only a few years now as i used to be a tent dweller, but find hanging soooo much more portable and comfortable.
i started in the good old string hammock which was ok as a start, i suppose, now just got myself a DD hammock + 3m x 3m tarp, very nice .
unfortunately unlike you guys over the water, the choice of kit is very limited over here and expensive, woohooo for online shopping .
i mainly go hanging solo in a place called 'The New Forest' which is in Hampshire, but this week end coming i am off to Dorking on the outskirts of London-ish with a group from Stoneage Bushcraft forum, run by a great guy called Mike Dixon, check him out on youtube.
i am a mega fan of shug emery ,watch his vid's all the time, very informative and like's a laugh too ,no better way to spend a few hours in my view .
Also i am a Ray Mears fan ,have watched him since day one and follow all that he does.
well thats all form the English Hanger for now.

    Happy hanging

    Hi Darwin,

Welcome to HF! Glad to have you here.

I'm into bushcraft too and I've already seen most of Mike Dixons videos on youtube - great stuff.

Also a huge fan of Ray Mears. Doesn't get any better!

    Happy hangin'!

    Hi Darwin,

Welcome to the forums from Southern Ontario.

Some friends and I are also big fans of Ray Mears. His series "Northern Wilderness" should be required viewing for Canadian students. I've learned more from Ray about my own country than I did in school.

    Hi

Welcome. I hail from the New Forest and it's a great place to hang. There are a few of us from the UK in here.

Welcome to HF. Thanks for pointing out Ray Mears and Mike Dixon's You-Tube videos. I have seen a couple of Ray Mears long while back. But had forgotten about them.
