Camo rope from Barre's

Barre's Army/Navy store has a sale on their camo rope. Anyone know if this will work for hammocks? Here's the details:

Camo Rope beautifully braided utility line. Colors available in polypropylene All Camo Rope are camo. Great for boating, camping, hunting, fishing rafting, trapping animal halters etc.

120 lbs working load - industry standard
tensile strength: 1200 lbs


Sizes is 3/8" x 50' for $9.95.

I don't know the difference between working load and tensile strength but I bet someone here will. Wish they made Amsteel in camo colors...

Tensile means yield strength or breaking point. work loads ratings are 4 times lighter than yield points you have to factor things in like shock loading, ect.

Polyester, spectra, dynema, etc is what you will probably want on your rig. More common plastics like polyetheline and nylon have a bit too much stretch and won't hold up to the high tensions suspension systems are subjected to. Due to hammock configurations, lines are stressed WAY past mere human static weight. There are some really great threads in this forum detailing this and feedback on various materials, sizes, etc for suspension systems. Non engineered human supoerting systems generally have a 10:1 safety factor built in.
