So would a good full length climashield xp system be 2 layers of 5.5 oz in the UQ and 1 layer of 5.5 oz for a top quilt? Maybe make 1 of the layers in the UQ removable for warmer weather? Or would 1 layer for a UQ work okay Thruhiker has 5.5 listed as a 20* rating?

Warbonnet is already ahead of you on the removeable UQ layer, his 3/4 length UQ looks like the ticket to me. Use a doubled CCF pad under your feet. I'd make a topquilt with one 5oz layer and a quilt with 2 5oz layers.

I started my quilt developement idea in another thread as to not hijack this one. but I think I'm gonna start with a 1 5.5 on top and 1 5.5 on bottom and add to it later if I need to. But I'm not a winter hanger so I think that will cover my needs for the other 3 seasons. If I do deside to winter hang I just need to buy and add more insulation at that point. maybe I will be a winter hanger next year seems kind of cold this year and with global warming it may not be long before my 3 season temps are the norm, lol!
