I ordered the 1.74mm and wish i would have ordered the 2.2 for use in my tarp ridge line. The 1.75 does not stay place in the figure nine without a half hitch to help hold it in. as a structural ridge line it works outstanding.
I don't like to tie knots in the line as its slippery i much prefer splicing it. I have found that using a small steel leader to pull the ends to be the most effective way of splicing this small line.
Splicing is best (approx 3" bury, 1.5" taper), but I find that it will indeed hold a useable knot and using it with prussic loops provide enough friction for me.
I never spliced have a whoopie sling sent to me that came undone and can't figure it out, So maybe I should look at other line that is smaller as strong and holds knots well hmmm
