Went hunting this weekend in the coast range of Oregon, and got to use my Claytor hammock for the first time. I used a therma rest Z-rest and my E.C.W.S military setup and was snug as a bug. However i made the newb mistake of pitching my fly to high and paid the price by being woken up to a very large and cold raindrop to the eye. The wind had started to pick up around 11:00 pm when i went to bed and got stronger as the cold and rain moved accross the mountains. I got up and was immedietly soaked from the rain that was coming in sideways. Of course it took about 4 tries to untie the now soaked para cord i had holding it up and moved the fly down to a more rain worthy height. I thought for sure i was going to be freezing from the soaking i had taken when i returned to my bed, but low and behold, within about 5 minutes i was just as warm and cozy as i had been. I do believe i am hooked on this hanging thing. Thanks to everyone that i learned from here. The many articles on hanging and doing it easier and faster were some or the best things i could ever have read about this. It made it a lot easier then i would have had it, trying to learn all this on my own. Thanks to everyone that has taken the time to write or make a video. You guys are the "Schiznit". LOL
