My wife and I are taking a week off in October to go camping. We are going to spend a couple of days at Merchants Mill Pond State Park in NC. We have camped there before but will be hammocking this time.
I then want to visit Stone Mountain State Park for a day or two and would like to know if any members have hung there and can offer any input and or suggestion about the park.
We plan to end up at the MAHH that weekend.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Gunner, I haven't done an overnighter at Stone MT NC since I started hammocking, but it's a nice state park. I've enjoyed quite a few day trips there.
I know several HF members have camped there in recent years, so I went to "Trip Reports" & put "Stone Mountain State Park" in the "search this forum" box. Here are at least three reports about hammocking there.

Note; they have "car camping" sites, at least one "primitive group" site, as well as a few designated "backpacking" sites (A-G I think).
