WTB - Alky Stove - Also need advice

Guess I should start by saying that I don't know too much about Alky Stoves.

Figured I would start off solely based on the advice from the forum and see where that takes me (Since you're such swell guys and gals).

Here is a little background...

• Not sure if it matters but use will probably range from summer to winter (a New Jersey/Pennsylvania winter that is).
  
• I would say 70% of the time I will be cooking for just me, but would like to have the option to cook for 2 people without taking too long.
  
• Cooking would not be very extensive. Probably just boiling water most of the time, but from time to time I may be tossing other food into the pot to heat up too.
  
• I already have a Snowpeak 700 Ti pot and a fuel bottle.
  
• I would like my setup, not including fuel, to fit inside my pot and of course be as light as possible.

What components do I need? Windscreen? Pot stand? Other items I have not thought of yet?

Basically... I would like someone to recommend a complete setup and then I want to buy one

There are a host of other sites on alky stoves and boil in a bag cooking.
I took a week and made a dozen stoves of different varieties. I now have been using the same one for years. No moving parts.. it never breaks.

Search alcohol stove or beer can stove. About a 100-200 videos, should answer a lot of your questions.

Everyone has mentioned some good stoves and i own some of them, their great. When researching keep note of fuel capacity and burn times. Also a number of video's start with water temps at 70 degrees and that won't be the case if your hauling water out of a stream in winter so expect longer boil times in that situation. I use my alky stove for backup and use it mostly for boiling up a cup or two of water otherwise i use a wood stove that doesn't have a limited burn time . Good luck

-Built in pot stand
-Wick stove, so it lights easily even in sub freezing temps
-No priming
-Efficient
-Hollow center to store small items when kit is packed up

I was following this thread today while I had a few minutes at work. I saw the line to whiteblaze that you posted and was fascinated by the wood burner that he was building and testing. This got me thinking and then it got me building when I got home. I built a wood burner prototype like the one in the video and I then noticed that my budlite burner would fit perfectly inside. This gave me an idea and I give you the pictures below:

The first pic is of the stand/woodstove, BL burner and stand. It is lit but the flash drowns out the flames. The second pic is of the burner in action, yellow/orange flame is from the glue burning off of the aluminum tape I used to hold the wind screen together. Third pics shows the water boiling after about five minutes. 2 oz. burned for close to 14 minutes. The wind screen in the stand/woodstove is adjustable up and down so it can be used by the alcohol burner in windy conditions. Needs more testing.............
