mule tape is tough stuff. Yep used for pulling cable, we also used it to pull each other out of the mud and snow. We once tied our boss to a street light one Friday afternoon.

The whole purpose of a hugger is to avoid damaging the trees we hang from by distributing the load of the suspension. For lightweights, and kids I don't see a problem, but by reducing the strap size, we're again increasing the pressure on the tree, and possibly damaging the tree.

Even my short length mule straps will go around the usual trees that grow in my area, several times. When I wrap the tree, I make sure to not overlap the straps, in effect making the strap wider that's touching the tree. (or spreading out the forces pulling on the tape). This stuff is so light weight that I don't mind carrying longer straps just so I'm able to wrap the tree a minimum of a couple of times.

To date: 4 large boxes and 4 small ones have been shipped. I'm now out of mule tape unti l probably next week.

Supplier just called, he'll be dropping off a bundle tomorrow. Costs me a couple of beers... unfortunately they're good beers, but that's ok.
