    insulation for a pad?

I saw this stuf at lowes while shopping for some insulation for the wall between my garage and my office. the thread of Temptrol remined me of this. it is two reflective shwwts with bubble wrap in the middle. Only problem is it is sold by the roll for $50 (at least online - maybe the store sells sheets).

I've used that in my entire house (combined with sprayed in polyurethane foam) it works well but the bubble wrap part of it by nature is a little delicate, its not meant to be disturbed once installed. there is a foam backed version that is more durable.

It's called reflectix and works great for pot cozies....I've heard of one or two folks trying it. Bulky and the bubbles can pop - I haven't heard of anyone who stuck with it after trying it.

I've got some I keep meaning to try. Seems more durable and less noisy than some posters were talking about. I happened to have some from doing some home renovations.

But yes at the very least it'll be good for other uses too... Home Depot here sells it in a bunch of sizes and shapes....

good for car camping and backyard camping but i wouldn't expect it to hold up for a long hike. it is light, but i hate bulk.

Very bulky and completely incompressible, that's my biggest issue with it.
