So me and some friends are going to be staying a few nights in JTNP in the middle of October and were planning on hammocking. For each hammock we have two 15ft lengths of climbing webbing and carabiners to clip on for hanging with trees, which is what I normally do, however Joshua Tree is in the desert and we will be hard pressed to find trees. We are going to try and hang from rocks. I have never hung hammocks from rocks before so I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions, tips, articles, etc on hanging with rocks. My initial idea was to get some climbing nuts and using those in the cracks of the rocks, but I dont know how well that will work. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
