MRNRA is to far for me as well. I am hoping to get out some this winter to test my setup. I will let everyone know how I make out. Haven't been out since my last outing. Kinda been tied up looking for a job as I lost my last one.

I've hung near both of the mentioned shelters - good spot near Wise is just over the bridge north of Wise into the FS area (Wise itself is in the SP) - good group of trees for hanging and good / large fire rings. Old Orchard also has some good hammock spots.Originally Posted by Ewker
So I would recommend Old Orchard or Wise Shelter. Lots of trees at the shelters. In fact HOI has hammocked at Old Orchard before. Ask him about that
