    stupid new guy here

    Howdy,

I've been lurking and searching for a few weeks now and thought I would join the ranks here. I enjoy the information, conversations, pictures, and videos.

It has motivated me to DIY some of these things. Mostly, just copy them.

I had a little free time and planned to upgrade sewing machines from the old in the cabinet sears kenmore to an old in the trolley dressmaker with more functions. Turns out the bobbin winder and the timing were both shot. So now I sit machine less and have time on my hands. So, I am searching for a new to me machine without shelling out lots of dough. local thrift shops are bare and I am unsure how confident I am in a CL machine, because of my ignorance.

Thanks and y'all have an good'en.

A separate bobbin winder is very inexpensive and worth having if you have a commercial / industrial machine. They also make them for home machines which are stand alone. Timing is an easy fix if the machine mechanically sound.

If you're wanting a good gear making machine... I'll deliver this one to Atlanta.

    Smile Welcome!!!

Welcome, Cutter... HF is a great site. However, I must warn you that it can quicly become addictive!!! I admire your eagerness to jump into DYI... so far, I have lacked the courage to venture into this!!!!

    Thanks for the welcome guys.

I appreciate the offer nacra533. I am limited a bit in size and need a more portable machine. I also am in the job hunt and funds are real tight. That thing looks super stout, though.

I was driving up 85 and crossed Lake Hartwell on Sat. I wanted to be out on a boat instead of riding in the car.

    have a good'en

elcome the HF. Lots to learn here. Wifey says surfing HF is all do. Kinda hard on the budget, but beats the heck out of going to bars. Constantly think of the next trip / shuffling gear. Luv this site. You will too.

Stupid people think they already know everything and bask in their ignorance.

Smart people realize they do not know everything and ask questions to try and learn.

Since you came to the forum you can not be a stupid person.
