No they are like fig trees or ash trees They have a small to med trunks, but grow very quick and can get quit large and provide excelent shade. I do know what you mean there are some ficus that develope the braided roots or trunks but the ones we have, (ill have to ask the wife what kind they are) look more like white ash trees....

Welcome SpaceWeisel. I too am new on the site. Are you coming to the Hangout next weekend? Live long and prosper.
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.

Welcome! I am also trying to figure it all out and have found that all the people here are invaluable. I am working on a quicker and easier suspension system for my Backpacker Ultralight and Expedition Asym and have found tons of information.

Rock posted some good info on putting a military poncho liner into use with the hammock, although I have not had a chance to make one.

    Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes.
    "The bug has bitten me!"
I got in on the Odds and Ends sale, and now i have the EXPLORER DELUXE A-SYM lounger without the netting on the way. "It was a pretty good deal at $69". It comes with every thing the Deluxe model comes with minus the netting, and i got the extra long tree huggers with it..
Now i will have two HH's..
