I saw in another thread where you put some netting in the suction tube, suck up the down (the netting keeps it from going into the vac). Then you power off the vac, disconnect your tube, and blow/push the down into your quilt. Repeat for each baffle section.

Yes, Lonely Raven that's how it was done. There is a thread about it somewhere. You can use a scale to weigh the tube and then weigh it again with the tube full of down. The tube I was using took me 4 times to fill one baffle with approximately 1.25 oz. of down.

I haven't done it myself yet but i trust Lance very much and this looks a lot better than trying to blow 16grams out of a shop vac tube, that always makes me feel like i'm gonna poop my pants.

Figures...I thought I came up with something new...

I had that same idea. It works on the same principal as an airbrush. It would work great if you know how much material you're blasting in. Like when you're sent the down in 1oz tubes.

you can use the educter with the down on the scale so you can watch how much is going in that way (do the math first so you know when you get close, taking down out not so fun)

My down room is impossible to keep clean. If it isn't the transfer method its how i take 16oz and put 1/2 in my container, makes a big mess.

Wow, I wish I had seen that. I did the research for the vacuum method awhile back and just didn't stop and look again. The eductor looks like it causes less mess. I will try that when I do an uq. I recently acquired two HH that were used at the Boy Scout Jamboree so I will be making some kind of uq for them and I still haven't made one for my Clark, I'm still using an army poncho liner for it.
