Perfect. I think it may be time to give my sleeping bag to my wife. Then I will have to get a burrow. Surely she would not want me to freeze!

That made me break a sweat from just looking at all that down. 4oz xtra fill, so what does that make it 20oz of 900 fill, now thats a lot of warmth. How'd the trip go though Beep, I assume you stayed warm and toasty, what was the low, do you know?

And the standard burrow with 16oz down is rated down to zero but I cant quite say what it would be rated to with 4oz of xtra stuffing? I can say that with 18 oz of 800 fill I got down to seven and was toasty warm. Check out Adams (Storm Crow) site

Just be careful, you'll go in wanting a Winter Burrow and come out with a set for each season its just so hard to resist.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

    Update/Review?

I'm getting ready to order this and probably a winter underquilt for a Jan 2011 backpacking trip in Wisconsin.

Just wondered if you have had a chance to use this in cold weather yet?

First...it's purty! Look at it...olive outside, silver grey inside.

Second, it's lofty! I compared it to my JRB MW4 UQ and found the loft to be virtually identical. Here's a shot with a Coke can for reference.

Third, it's well-made. Neat seams, no loose threads, no leaky down. Here's a shot showing the joining of the sewn footbox with reinforcement.

Now a few specs...it's a LONG Winter Burrow, suitable for my 6' 5" height. It's overstuffed (by 4 oz) with 900 fill goose down. It has a total of about 20 oz. of down. I haven't weighed the finished product yet, but I'm guessing it's just a hair under 2 pounds (31 or 32 oz).

One last photo for you. I folded the MW4 UQ twice to make it stack up high. I did the same with the Winter Burrow, figuring that any small differences in loft would be magnified four times by the stacking. My eyeball estimate is that they are the same. I realize that a rectangular MW4 is NOT identical to the sewn Burrow, but 'twas the inspiration of the moment!!

Thank you, Adam, for making such a great product. I look forward to some good Minnesota cold weather to give it a workout and a full "in use" review.
