Weighing Gear - what do you use?

I'm getting close to being done with my hammock and want to weigh it. What do you all use to weigh your gear? I saw a couple digital scales in the hunting section of Walmart that did have pounds and ounces. Would this do or is there a better option?

    Thanks, in advance.

I just use a digital kitchen scale... nothing fancy, but it does give me the weight of the stuff I put on top of it

Same here. I also have a hand-held digital luggage scale purchased on eBay that I use for weighing a loaded pack.

I got a scale at the post office (I saw it while I was there, and needed one), I have since found that I spent more than I should have/could have! All you really need is one that gives you ounces, and you can do the conversion to pounds very easy after that! You can use the one you saw with no issue! Later on if you get the gram weenie bug then you can get a scale that goes to grams as well!!

I pack up what I got, weight myself on the scale, mark the weight, put on all my gear, hop back on, and subtract.

I'm a skin out kind of person for my weight. All I wanna know is what my setup weighs. I only upgrade as I can. Next time I pack up, I'll find out how much weight I've saved since last time I weighed my skin out backpacking setup.

If I weighed every item before it was time to replace it with something new and lighter, I'd never stop spending money and enjoying myself in the woods. NOTHING gets weighed until I can afford to replace it or have a DIY I can perform.

My summer weekend pack load this year dropped from 25 to 17 lbs!!! WOOOT! My cool weather pack load is likely a similar savings.

I have a digital scale that you have to tap when you stand on it...let it zero...then you get on and it tells you your weight. I tap it and get on while it zeros...then pick up my bulky items like my pack after it says I weigh zero.

Small things i use my kitchen scale.

Baking kitchen scale for me too. Just have to add everything together because it only goes up to 5lbs.

Why do you have a scale that goes to 5lbs?
Doesn't your pack weigh 2 lbs fully loaded

I have been looking at getting a good floor scale, but man are they expensive!
