Just got my new river underquilt. A couple of questions:
How snug to make it around the hammock?
Do you secure it around you with the loops that are sewn on?
Thanks,
Max

Hey Copperhead glad it got there. As far as how snug, you want it just snug, the quilt should just hold the hammock when you are not in it. Try not to over do it on the shock cord you want it to be reasonably flexible still. And to much tension will open up gaps. On the loops you can use them to secure the quilt around the hammock if you need to, say on really cool lights, but using them does depend on the hammock a little. Using just one or two can work well if you really need to.

First off let me say congrats on a great UQ. I have two of them and love 'em.
OK Questions:
1). Not sure if you mean the end channel being cinched up or the UQ body to the Hammock. I will try to answer both. The end channel cinch is there so you can regulate the temp in "warmer" weather. Uncinched it will allow air to enter between the hammock and UQ cooling the occupant. Cinched up it will not allow air to enter between the hammock and UQ keeping the occupant warm. If you are referring to the UQ to the Hammock body then I adjust the suspension (head and foot end) so that the UQ is hanging below the hammock body by about a hand width, that being the thickness of my hand from palm to top of hand.
2).The loops that are at the end of the UQ body are used to hang (suspend) the UQ under the hammock via shock cord usually. You can then run a section of shock cord through the other three loops from the ends of the UQ to keep the sides of the UQ snug against the hammock to stop breezes from blowing in between the hammock and UQ from the sides.
I know, clear as mud ain't it!!!!!!! I hope this helps.........
dang, Paul is fast on the draw today!!!!!!!!!
